A good scare

Was listening to the 15 Jan 2012 edition of Jarvis Cocker’s Sunday Service, and I heard something that scared me. Not the frightened-scared, it’s the eerie-creepy-scared.

It is Benny Goodman Orchestra “Sing, Sing, Sing” featuring Gene Krupa on the Drums, Harry James on Trumpet from the 1937 film “Hollywood Hotel”.
Krupa’s tom-tom interludes on the record were the first extended drum solos to be recorded commercially.

The drum solo unsettles me. Now why would tom-tom scares me?

Then I realised why.

Once you go Lynch, you’ll never sleep in peace.
